The Carne Asada Burrito is the litmus test by which any Mexican Restaraunt is measured, and Adalberto's flagship of its burrito fleet is up to the task. With its proximity to Naval Base Point Loma, Adalberto's is a frequent haunt of the hungry sailor. In fact, I've heard many a 'sea story' about deployed sailors counting 'days left to Carne Asada' in place of days left until return to homeport. But on to the grub...
This is about 1 pound of grilled steak, a siesta wrapped inside of a flour tortilla. This one includes seasoned beef (but not too spicy), Mexican Salsa and guac for $3.94. Adalberto's also has a Carne Asada which adds Sour Cream and Cheese to this mix, but I typically choose to stick with the basics. Just about right on the grease content as you can see in the pic- it does not flow out onto the plate or turn the tortilla into a greasy sponge. Adalberto's Carne Asada will always keep me coming back for more!
